August 5-12th 2012

What is it about?

  • 7 days of fellowship with God and other dancers
  • intensive dance training by professionals
  • inspiring input that will get you moving
  • discovering gifts and inspiring others

What will it look like?

  • In the morning: start with worship and input
  • Throughout the day: 4-5 dance /mime classes of different dance styles, split into 2 level-groups (average or advanced)
  • In the evening: fellowship, fun, Talent Show, ...
  • On the weekend: performance at the X-Days 2012 in Biel (youth culture days)

Prophetic Painting

27.01. - 29.01.2012
Begin: Friday 7.30pm
End: Sunday 4.00pm

We will study God's Model for Art and the spiritual dimension of Art. We will look into prophesying and listening to the Voice of God. You will receive a biblical foundation for Prophetic Arts. Teachings will be translated into practical (painting) exercises. Students will stretch their creative abilities and gain insight into God's heart and his purposes for Christian artists and creative people.

Speaker: Marion de Jong is an artist from the Netherlands. She has 10 years artistic training (various teachers, including Goolsche Academy, Laren, NL) and is the initiator of "The King's HeART," an organisation for promotion of prophetic arts (www.propheticpainting.com). She wrote "Prophetic Painting" which was published in 2009, and she has taught courses on prophetic painting for 5 years now.

Prophethy and Worship

God speaks - also through the body. What does prophecy, and "listening" with your body mean? Prophetic dancing should come out of a heart that worships God. Through exercises, we try to get more sensitive to the speaking of God in and through our bodies and help each other in trying out.

Teacher:
Astrid Künzler-Büchter is director of dance.motion and the dance theater dito. She is dancer, choreographer and MAS dance pedagogue. For 13 years she has been teaching people dance, based on biblical principles and in context with the kingdom of God. She has a lot of experience in the area of listening to Gods voice through and with the body.

Portrait painting

Speaker: Nadya Molugova is from Russia. She has National Diploma in Graphic Design from Grekov Art College, Rostov-on-Don, Russia (4 years). For 6 years she has been the Art Courses Director at the University of the Nations (Rostov-on-Don, Russia; Kiev, Ukraine; St. Petersburg, Russia) and is now the Administrative Director of the Russian Art Academy in Florence, Italy and St. Petersburg, Russia.

Contemporary/Jazz fusion

Teacher: Randall Flinn (USA) has years of dance experience on an international level. He is an excellent dancer with an emphasis on Modern and Contemporary as well as a passionate choreographer. His pieces are relevant, pick up current issues and point to God. The seminar includes technique classes in Contemporary/Jazz on a high level.

Songwriting

Are you a passionate songwriter or would you like to become one? Together with Dan Zeltner we want to learn how to bring songs out from our hearts onto paper. Dan will give you tips on how you can write your own songs or how you can improve the ones you've already written.

Speaker: Dan Zeltner is a musician and songwriter from Switzerland. When he was a 22 years old Primary School Teacher he moved to England to get further training and to work with the Equippers Church London. After a church building phase in Berlin, an further pastoral training and work as a music teacher in New Zealand he lives now again in Switzerland with his Family. Next to CD productions with the Swiss Church CLZ Burgdorf and own productions he is live on Stage again and again, is leading Worship or runing Seminars.

Pictures that Communicate

Creativity is one of the things that reflects God's character. Sadly visual communication has been neglected for a long time by the body of Christ. How can we communicate God's purposes through photography?

Speaker: Hannu Piirainen is a photographer from Finland. He has studied photography with an emphasis on contemporary art in The Surrey Institute of Art and Design in England. Later in Finland he studied professional photography. Hannu has worked as professional photographer since 2000. He started as an entrepreneur in 2004. His clients are both private people and companies.

Seminar “The church, the Artist and cultural restoration”

In this seminar Colin Harbinson explores some of the stones or hindrances in the church and in the life of the artist that have prevented us from embracing God’s good gifts of imagination and creativity, and stones that have prevented us from bringing hope and restoration to the brokenness of our surrounding culture. He examines what it means to remove these stumbling blocks and to participate as artists in God’s restoration plan for his creation.

Biography Colin Harbenson

Dr. Colin Harbinson was born in London, England, and has been involved in many varied aspects of the arts, missions and education for 40 years. Colin created the internationally acclaimed production Toymaker & Son that has been performed in over 70 countries. Recognized internationally as a pioneer and leader in his field, Colin’s work as a writer, director and producer has won numerous industry awards, including the prestigious Golden Halo Award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council.

Colin received his education at Sussex University, Brighton, England, then later joined Youth With a Mission, and directed the Academy of Performing Arts in Ontario, Canada. He subsequently served as the International Dean of The College of the Arts at the University of the Nations. He was awarded an honorary doctorate (DD) for lifetime achievement in the arts in 1995. Until recently he was Dean of the Arts at Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. Colin is currently the International Director of StoneWorks, a global arts partnership for cultural reformation and the recovery of the imagination in the life and mission of the Church.

In 2008, Colin and his wife Maureen celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have two sons and three grand daughters.
